Google chrome is a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox, which is developed by Google itself think it’s faster than Internet Explorer web browser. I started using it more often when I am working and in a rush to get information. I like the fact you can customize how it looks from different themes and you can arrange the way it presents, it can be as thumbnail or as a list. It also saves tabs and sites that you have closed from previous sessions.
Google has made so easy for many people around the world, moon and mars to travel and see different aspects of information with pictures and videos of a country, city or an ocean. It was interesting to locate areas at the map to its smallest detail such as a road located in a city. I did all this in Google Earth
I don’t think I will ever be a loyal account holder to Gmail unless I have many people on my list an actually used their Gmail account or drag them in using it. I liked the Gmail account because it was easy to use
Google Docs is one of my favorite tools that I have been using. I really do think it is very useful and comes in handy when your laptop isn’t working and you have all your files stored in. Google Docs saves the day, that’s only if you have uploaded your folders into it. Another reason why I like this tool is because you can share it with others and also sharing it without having to worry if they got the documents needed. Once you just have you friend or team member as a collaborator then you are set to go.
The only calendar that I have actually used for maintaining and to write down my task exams and assignment was in Google calendar. It has helped a lot with organizing and being able to keep up with what I needed to do. This calendar was more welcoming, in term of use than any other calendar that I have used in the past.
Google Finance was the least interesting to me and maybe because I didn’t think that I could use apply it to my life unless I have this big urge to own a stock or bonds or anything to do with finance. Maybe not now will it come in handy for me, sometime in the future. But I thought it was really useful when looking up companies’ information and profile. It gives us a chance to see the financial statements of a firm both income and the balance sheet. We can download charts and play with its shape and design.
I think that one of my favorite tools would be the Blogs. I used to own a blog but I don’t remember its usernames or its password, but having another chance to create a new one and blog on it made me realize that I really used to enjoy blogging. Having to do the blogs for the Google project made it easier for students to open about topics and issues from the college and outside and how everyone has their own different opinion and attitudes on some similar to different topics. As it is for the Google Blog Search, this tool is easy to use it makes it easier to look up blogs that may interest you. It works like a Google search engine but this is just for blogs.
Creating sites and design is one of many things I enjoy doing, and since we are applying Google tools in our studies or life and if you enjoy creating websites, Google Sites gives you the chance to enhance your creativity skills and publish your website for free. You can create more than one website and have it other languages. It is easy to navigate around the tools and options.
I Google is a great way to get all the important sites and personal items in one page, where you can categorize these items into different tabs. Once you have created what you need as a main folder, you can ass gadgets through and images provided by the search link in I Google. You can customize the locations of your items inside the tab.
Google Alerts, It’s a one easy tool you can use when you want to be updates from other websites on new information and situation happening around the world or from sites that you visit more often used it for my project, so it can alert me on various topics and statistics about the UAE.
Google Picasa and Picasa web, these two functions were my favorite of them all, it’s the only function that I thought you can be creative and enjoy life with pictures, colors and shapes. In Picasa is an easy program that can help you edit your pictures, create videos, Geo tag your pictures or buy prints online. One you have done the changes you needed to your images, you can upload them easily online through the Picasa web. When you log on to picas web you can share is with the public or specifically with friends and families.
Google Desktop, this is tool is really good if you such a busy person and love things organized and in hand for you. You can add some of Google’s feature to your desktop for easy access. You can also add the alert that has been customized.
Google Groups function is similar to a discussion forum where people can join and share ideas images files and folders. you will need togo through 2 steps. The first is to fill in the form about you and what is the main purpose of the group, next step would be is to add you freinds or familly that you would like add to the group.I have a group but there were no respose from who i have invited.
Google Reader is a Web-based aggregator, capable of reading Atom and RSS feeds online or offline. It was released by Google. You can share many items with other online .this function work offline and online mode and you can Also access through a mobile device. there many keyboars function that you can use, and it also keeps track and automatically marks what you have read .You can also change how you view your reader.
Google Scholar.
This Tool is like the search engine that helps people to look up information. But the difference would be is that its more into articles and papers and from books. Somehow like Google Reader.once you specify your keyword search you can get many listed options. And you get to choose the date you want and it also offers citations to some articles depending on your search results

Easy On the MULLAHH !!
Lately my friends and I have been spending a lot of money on Food and dinning in restaurants... and this business has to end.
I don’t think it’s healthy at all but I blame the college for that, they have good food but it gets boring after a while... I blame the long hours in class, and I blame myself and my friends for turning us into such eating outside obsessed monsters.
But we have decided to put a stop to that and try our best to just stick to what the college has to offer or wait till you get home!!
Don’t waste money on a daily basis on dining outside !!

Dubai Metro : )
Guess what Readers !!
I have finally had a chance to get on the Dubai metro with my friends; we have been planning for this day, for quite a long time now... it was a nice and an enjoyable experience...
We parked our car at the Rashidya station and went on till MOE .. Once we got there we decided to change out destination and went all the way to Nakheel Harbour Port station. We took a taxi to JBR, we were hoping to get on the bus, but no busses were going that direction.
The weather was lovely and wished we could stay till later on.
It wouldn’t be a Great outing if I and my best friend hadn’t went head to head with each other as usual and this time it was over the tickets !! which I thought was better than our other stupid little arguments we had in the past. Once we got over that, it was cute seeing my friend getting excited and rushing to get into the train thinking it was going to leave us behind.
The train was nice; we liked the regular seating area then the female and children cabinet which felt like JAIL!! .It was nice to look at Dubai from a different perspective and view which made me realize how blessed I am to be here, and hopefully this metro idea could extend to other emirates in the UAE or maybe even the neighboring Gulf countries .
I cant seem to find my cameras wire, so that I can upload few pictures , maybe sometime later.

HOT Minute ..
This whole Mobile issue with students at the college is somehow resolved... Basically students are allowed to use their mobile phone more often as how it used to be... I bet many students are happy about this one!!
It took them a HOT Minute to get to this stage...But I must say there is hope for us and coming students to the college lol [I joke, i joke]
THIS DOESNT MEAN YOU SHOULDNT BE CAREFULL, SECURITIES ARE EVERYWHERE
I Love DWC : )

Time Management is in NEED
hmmm .. well this a bad habit that i am starting and gaining these days !! I tend to leave my work till last minute which is BADDD , am not usually like this but ever since we got back from our first break at the college this year, i keep delaying my work at home and college .. am not syaing i like this pattern but i tend to get my work done on time !!
So i decided to google some few good tips and might use some of them in my own life
1. Make a plan. It’s never too early to start figuring out how you’ll do all the work in each of your five classes. In fact, the very first day of classes is the right time. Enter all the assignments—including weekly assignments, quizzes, and exercises or short papers—into your electronic or print calendar. Then develop a plan for both your run-of-the-mill weekly studying and the monde research paper or killer final.
2. Learn to say NO. For example, an acquaintance of yours would like you to see a movie with him tonight. You made social plans for tomorrow with your friends and tonight you were going to study and do laundry. You really are not interested. You want to say no, but you hate turning people down. Politely saying no should become a habit. Saying no frees up time for the things that are most important.
(one of my issues), I cant seem to say NO and it bugs me sometimes.
3. Create time management goals. Remember, the focus of time management is actually changing your behaviors, not changing time. A good place to start is by eliminating your personal time-wasters. For one week, for example, set a goal that you’re not going to take personal phone calls while you’re working.
4. Do the most important thing first. Trapani calls this “running a morning dash”. When she sits down to work in the morning, before she checks any email, she spends an hour on the most important thing on her to-do list. This is a great idea because even if you can’t get the whole thing done in an hour, you’ll be much more likely to go back to it once you’ve gotten it started. She points out that this dash works best if you organize the night before so when you sit down to work you already know what your most important task of the day is.
5. Learn to Prioritize. Prioritizing your responsibilities and engagements is very important. Some people do not know how to prioritize and become procrastinators. A “to do list” places items in order of importance. One method is the ABC list. This list is divided into three sections; a, b, or c. The items placed in the A section are those needed to be done that day. The items placed in the B section need completion within the week. The C section items are those things that need to be done within the month. As the B, C items become more pertinent they are bumped up to the A or B list. Try it or come up with your own method, but do it.

6. Admit multitasking is bad.For people who didn’t grow up watching TV, typing out instant messages and doing homework all at the same time, multitasking is deadly. But it decreases everyone’s productivity, no matter who they are. “A 20-year-old is less likely to feel overwhelmed by demands to multitask, but young people still have a loss of productivity from multitasking,” says Trapani.
7. Learn to focus. You’re used to getting your content in 140-character units, in 20-second bursts, or with lots of video to go with it. But college is not Twitter, YouTube, or Hulu. In college, whether in the lecture, the reading, or the problem sets, sustained attention is needed. Learn to focus—without breaks and without additional stimulation—for 15- to 20-minute units. We know it’s hard to reprogram your brain. But doing so will prevent your having to start focusing again—and overcoming your resistance—50 times an hour.
8. Dare to be slow. Remember that a good time manager actually responds to some things more slowly than a bad time manager would. For example, someone who is doing the highest priority task is probably not answering incoming email while they’re doing it.
9. Use time management tools. Whether it’s a Day-Timer or a software program, the first step to physically managing your time is to know where it’s going now and planning how you’re going to spend your time in the future. A software program such as Outlook, for instance, lets you schedule events easily and can be set to remind you of events in advance, making your time management easier.
10. Divide and conquer. Break up larger projects, such as research papers, field studies, and cumulative finals, into manageable chunks. And spread the stages over a reasonable number of days. Always add some extra time above what you think you need, because usually there’s a major crunch or crisis toward the end. It’s better to have a little extra time than to find yourself running around like a madman when your computer crashes at 4 o’clock the morning before a paper is due.

GOOD BREAK GOTTEN SO FAR!!
Got back from a nice long week holiday which I wished it never ended!!
National day was celebrated 2 weeks back although it’s on the 2nd of Dec; at out college we start it off at the green area of DWC... We had sky divers falling of the sky with the colors of the UAE flag... I’ve seen it last year but it always seems to impress me every time the college organizes it, and then went off with my friend around the College looking at some of the activities that was going. The worst thing was I was marked absent and still is, even though I was at the college, I didn’t know that we would need attendance on national day!!! It’s a first!!

As it is... I spent the rest of my break in Oman with my stepdads family in Muscat!! I hate going to Oman but what would I do if my driver isn’t around to drive me where I want to go (My Sister) .. The weather was different and colder than Dubai which was the only thing that I liked most.
On our way to Oman, roads were crowded and full of visitors at the border which would take a lot of time for us to get through luckily we caught up with my stepdad and he went in the office and stamped or passports so we don’t have 2 wait for hours in the queue, benefit of having a royal family memberJ.. We planned to stay there for 2 days, but we ended up a week there because of the sightseeing BBq’s and trips we had my mom was furious and always called us to come back the next day which we didnt do cause my sister didn’t feel like driving back. Till the week has come to an end and she realized that we have something called LIFE that we have to go back to that includes a lot of COLLEGE WORK AND ASSISGNMENT >_<

A Good Place to Work !!
Magid Al Futtaim (MAF) Dalkia is an interesting place to work. My friend and i had a chance to visit the company that is located in City Centre. we had an interview with the HR Manger. its a joint corporate company with 70 years of experience.
Since i worked at a retail store for Majid al Futtaim 2 years back, i have a good idea of what they have to offer. I liked most was what they have to offer to their employees to make sure that they are entertained and don't get bored at all times. Its a friendly environment in the company with many different departments.
The new two departments i came to find out about was:
•Quality, Health & Safety Department, which emphasises on the importance of health and safety off and on the sites they work at and making sure that they are provided with good quality of equipments and machinery
•Sustainable Energy Management Department, which basically deals making sure that energy are used efficiently and not to waste.
I liked the fact that the company was open to talk to us about some if the issues that they have faced and that no layoffs have been taken part during the recession and they are still recruiting.
